With all this talk of the release of Michael Jordan's latest shoe, the Cool Grey 11s, I couldn't help but to look into why these shoes are so popular and why so many people go to such great lengths to get them? While I didn't find the answer to those questions, I found a lot more interesting facts.

With Nike always seeming to dominate the shoe industry during my time growing up, It was interesting to find that Nike was not always on top of their game. However, it was even more interesting to discover that when Nike came to Michael Jordan, he was far from interested.

Turns out Michael Jordan was always a huge fan of Adidas and Converse. While Nike saw great opportunity in Michael Jordan, he was bored and uninterested in a deal with them. However, Michael Jordan made a decision that undoubtedly changed his life forever. While Jordan faced some obstacles after joining Nike, like his shoes being banned and leading Jordan to be fined for continuing to wear them on the court, we can all agree that it was all worth it.
